My name is Richard Dalziel and I established RCD Solutions Ltd back in 2004.
A brief history, I left University in 1992 with a Masters’s Degree in Construction & Project Management, qualified as a CIMA Management Accountant in 1994 and began working in the Home Shopping Industry (as it was known then) in 1997.
I have extensive financial, commercial and operational experience working within fast-moving business environments. I have always worked in commercially focused positions where I liaise with business stakeholders, directors and senior management teams.
Much of my time over the last 30+ years has been spent working within retail trading environments. I am drawn to positions where I can add value, be commercially astute and be a strategic planner. Depending on the organisation, my roles have varied from trading and profit maximisation to operational support and customer service-focused positions. This has reinforced the importance of being able to see the bigger picture as well as maintaining good working relationships with both internal and external business partners.
I enjoy working with all levels of staff within the business and have a reputation as a versatile, self-motivated, trustworthy and safe pair of hands with rigour and attention to detail. Through thorough analysis and discussion, I can understand business processes and communicate effectively with all departments within an organisation. I’m always prepared to roll up my sleeves and get involved where required.
I have worked within a range of retail businesses including Early Learning Centre, &SONS, Cath Kidston, Christopher Ward Watches, Whittard of Chelsea, River Island, Anorak Online, Green Baby, Bonsoir of London, Blacks Outdoor Leisure Group, Somerfield PLC, Greenall’s PLC, MNP and Telewest (now part of Virgin Media).
